Documentatieblad Werkgroep Achttiende Eeuw
 The journal De Achttiende Eeuw, established in 1968, offers a comprehensive picture of the eighteenth century. De Achttiende Eeuw contains contributions in the fields of literature, architecture and art, philosophy, religion and other aspects of cultural history, as well as political, social, economic and general history. In special features, forgotten men and women from the eighteenth century and (re)discovered source material is put into the limelight. In these, explicit references are made to current affairs in research and in the imagology of the period.
In review articles, discussion dossiers and interviews, publications of interest are considered, and in smaller features, new books, websites and conferences are pointed out. Important are not only the goings-on in the scientific community, but also the way in which the century is presented to the general public. Historic novels, exhibitions, theatre and historic films also enter our field of vision. Indispensable for anyone interested in the eighteenth century, in the Netherlands and Belgium!
The journal contains regular features such as ‘The Eighteenth Century Narrated’, ‘Concerning Sources’, ‘Messages from the Learned World’, ‘State of Affairs’ and ‘Observations’. The different features are designed to keep the reader informed on current developments in research. De Achttiende Eeuw appears twice annually. The journal also operates as link between the members of the Werkgroep.
